  • It invites governments, companies and universities to work together using open-source AI and cross-border research.
  • The plan supports the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on closing the digital gap between rich and poor countries.

The WAIC conference hosted over 800 companies from around the world, including tech giants like Huawei, Alibaba, Tesla and Google.

Over 3,000 new AI innovations were showcased, featuring large language models and smart robotsThis proposal is part of China’s larger goal to become a global leader in AI policy and standards. It also reflects China’s efforts to offer an alternative to Western-led tech alliances and expand its influence through multilateral cooperation.
