Asus ROG and Xreal have unveiled new gaming focused augmented reality glasses that aim to deliver ultra smooth visuals and a large virtual screen experience. The companies revealed the device at CES 2026, positioning it as a portable alternative to traditional monitors for immersive gameplay.

The AR glasses feature a 240 Hz micro-OLED display, which places them among the fastest refreshing AR wearables announced so far. The companies say the display projects a virtual screen roughly the size of a large desktop monitor. This high refresh rate reduces motion blur and input lag, helping players maintain visual clarity and responsiveness during fast-paced games such as shooters, racing titles, and competitive E-sports.

Asus and Xreal also designed the glasses for wide device compatibility. Users can connect them via USB-C for plug and play with gaming handhelds, PCs,  mobile devices and other supported devices. In addition, an optional control dock enables HDMI and DisplayPort connections allowing the glasses to work with consoles and other gaming systems. This flexibility lets players switch between platforms without changing displays.

To strengthen immersion, the companies paired the expanded field of view with upgraded audio technology. Together, these features aim to make players feel as though they are experiencing gaming inside a large screen, even when space is limited. Asus targets this experience at gamers who want portability without sacrificing performance.

Asus has not announced pricing, but the companies plan to release the AR gaming glasses in the first half of 2026.
