With the official launch of its newest flagship consumer drone, the Mavic 4 Pro, DJI has raised the bar for aerial photography and filming. Launched globally on May 13, 2025, the Mavic 4 Pro introduces significant advancements in camera technology, flight performance, and intelligent features, catering to both professionals and enthusiasts.
A revised triple-camera module at the center of the Mavic 4 Pro is conspicuously mounted on a “infinity gimbal” that extends the tilt range from -90° to +80°, exceeding the +35° limit of the Mavic 3 Pro. This configuration consists of:
- With a 28mm f/2–f/11 lens, this 100MP 4/3″ CMOS Hasselblad wide-angle camera can shoot videos at 6K/60 fps and 4K/120 fps.
- 1/1.3″ medium telephoto CMOS lens (about 50mm)
- A 1/1.5″ CMOS telephoto lens (approximately 145mm equivalent).
In order to improve its performance in a variety of lighting circumstances, the drone also has dual native ISO settings (400 and 1600), a stepless electronic ND filter (ND4–ND64), and 14 stops of dynamic range.
Under ideal conditions, the Mavic 4 Pro’s 6654 mAh (95.3 Wh) battery can fly for up to 52 minutes, which is a significant improvement over the Mavic 3 Pro’s 43 minutes. to its greater battery capacity, the drone weighs 1,045 grams, which is slightly more than its predecessor.
The Mavic 4 Pro introduces several advanced features:
- O4+ Video Transmission: Offers a 40-kilometer range, guaranteeing a steady and excellent video stream.
- 2TB Internal capacity: With twice as much internal SSD capacity as the Mavic 3 Pro Cine, the Cine version can save a large amount of high-resolution video.
- RTK Support: Improves positional precision, which is advantageous for applications involving mapping and surveying.
- Picture-in-Picture Mode: Enhances situational awareness by enabling the live feed from the front camera and the view from the downward-facing VIO camera to be displayed simultaneously.
The base edition of the Mavic 4 Pro costs about €2,200, while the Cine version is anticipated to cost between $4,000 and $5,000. Due to current taxes on Chinese goods, the drone is now unavailable in the United States even though it has been released globally.
The DJI Mavic 4 Pro raises the bar for consumer drones with its innovative camera system, longer flying duration, and sophisticated functionality. DJI’s position at the vanguard of drone technology is cemented by its capabilities, which span a wide range of applications from industrial surveying to professional filmmaking.
