Gemini AI Suggested Times in Google Calendar: How Meeting Scheduling Works

Google has expanded its smart scheduling tools by adding a Gemini AI powered feature called Suggested times inside Google Calendar. The update aims to reduce back and forth when planning meetings by recommending time slots that work for everyone involved.

When users create a new calendar event, Gemini AI reviews the schedules of invited participants. It considers existing meetings, working hours and availability to surface practical options directly in the event setup.

How Gemini AI Suggested Times Works

  • Scans invitees’ calendars for open availability
  • Accounts for working hours and scheduling conflicts
  • Displays recommended time slots while creating an event
  • Allows one click selection of a suggested meeting time

If multiple participants decline an invitation, Calendar can also prompt users with alternative options that better align with everyone’s schedules.

Who Gets Access

The feature is rolling out to eligible Google Workspace users, including:

Supported Plans Availability
Business Standard and Business Plus Enabled by default
Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus Enabled by default
Google AI Pro for Education Enabled by default

Access depends on the domain rollout schedule. Rapid Release domains receive the feature first, followed by Scheduled Release domains.

This update is part of Google’s broader Gemini integration across Workspace tools, focused on making everyday collaboration faster and more efficient without adding extra steps.
