Appleโ€™s iPhoneโ€ฏ17 series is gearing up for a major reveal in Septemberโ€ฏ2025, and the latest leaks suggest it will mark one of the biggest shifts in iPhone design and features in years. Expected to include four models, the standard iPhoneโ€ฏ17, the new iPhoneโ€ฏ17โ€ฏAir replacing the Plus, and two highโ€‘end Pro variants, the lineup promises notable upgrades across the board.

Reports point out that all models, including the standard iPhoneโ€ฏ17, will debut ProMotion displays with 120โ€ฏHz refresh rates, built on LTPO OLED technology. These panels bring smoother scrolling, adaptive refresh based on content, and even alwaysโ€‘on capabilities in premium models.ย Additionally, expect slimmer bezels and a modernized Dynamic Island interface across the lineup.

On performance, Apple is slated to introduce its A19 chip in the base and Air models, while the Pro variants will feature the mightier A19โ€ฏPro. Memory bumps include up to 8โ€ฏGB RAM for standard and Air models and 12โ€ฏGB for the Pro / Pro Max. The Pro models are also believed to gain Appleโ€‘designed Wiโ€‘Fi 7 and potentially a homegrown 5G modem in some versions, increasing connectivity and efficiency.

Camera improvements are especially dramatic in the Pro line. The iPhoneโ€ฏ17โ€ฏPro and Pro Max are rumored to sport a new elongated, horizontal camera bar instead of the traditional square bump, housing a 48โ€ฏMP telephoto lens with an 8ร— optical zoom that supports continuous focal-length adjustment. Apple is reportedly adding a professional camera app tailored to creators, and hardware tweaks like relocated Apple logos and MagSafe updates are hinted at.

Meanwhile, the iPhoneโ€ฏ17 Air will debut as Appleโ€™s thinnest device ever, roughly 5.5 to 6โ€ฏmm thick, with a single 48โ€ฏMP rear camera and a large 6.6โ€‘inch 120โ€ฏHz display. However, the designโ€™s tight form factor may limit battery size to around 2,800โ€ฏmAh, which could challenge daily endurance despite efficiency gains in software like iOSโ€ฏ26 Adaptive Power.

iPhone 17 series may launch globally around September 9โ€“10, 2025, with vibrant colors, prices starting at $899, and major upgrades like thinner designs, advanced cameras, and iOS 26 integration, making it one of Appleโ€™s boldest updates yet.
