A surprisingly premature advertisement sighted in London’s Oxford Circus Underground station has sparked excitement and confusion by proclaiming the upcoming Metroid Prime 4: Beyond as “Out Now”.

The poster, part of a promotional campaign for the Nintendo Switch 2 library, prominently featured the phrase “Out Now” beneath Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Unlike its counterpart promoting Mario Kart World, which correctly positioned the phrase on a live release, the Metroid poster appears to have jumped the gun leading many commuters to believe the game had launched unexpectedly.

Video Games Chronicle investigators on site discovered the ad uses the same design template employed for Mario Kart World, including the “Out Now” graphic. It appears someone may have simply neglected to remove the phrase when adapting the artwork for Metroid Prime 4 .

Despite garnering attention, the ad does not reflect Nintendo’s official release schedule. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, developed by Retro Studios after a significant reboot from Bandai Namco’s initial iteration, remains firmly slated for 2025, although a specific date has yet to be announced.

The game is set for a cross-generation release available on both the original Nintendo Switch and the newly launched Switch 2. The latter will boast graphical enhancements, higher framerates, and optional mouse control support via Joy‑Con 2 controllers.

Nintendo has confirmed Donkey Kong Bananza will be the next major Switch 2 launch, arriving on July 17, 2025. Fans waiting for Metroid Prime 4 are advised to hold tight for Nintendo’s formal release announcement later this year.

A mistaken “Out Now” label on a London Underground poster sparked false speculation that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond had launched early. The error likely stemmed from a reused design template originally made for Mario Kart World. Nintendo has not changed its official release plans Metroid Prime 4 is still expected in 2025. The game will release on both the Switch and Switch 2, with the latter offering upgraded visuals and controls. Meanwhile, Nintendo’s next confirmed title is Donkey Kong Bananza, arriving in mid-July 2025.
