Nvidia Expands Autonomous Vehicle Platform at CES 2026

NVIDIA showcases its autonomous vehicle platform at CES 2026 with futuristic self-driving cars and AI technology on display

At CES 2026, Nvidia expanded its autonomous-vehicle ambitions by announcing new tier-1 partnerships and major performance upgrades to DRIVE Hyperion for Level 4 self-driving systems. The company stated that more than a dozen suppliers, including Aeva, Bosch, Magna, Sony, and ZF, will integrate compatible sensors and hardware, giving automakers a standardized foundation for advanced autonomy.

Aeva’s 4D LiDAR sits at the center of the platform as DRIVE Hyperion’s reference sensor. Nvidia plans production-ready vehicle integrations for 2028. The company confirmed that the system runs on dual DRIVE AGX Thor chips based on its Blackwell architecture, delivering more than 2,000 FP4 teraflops to power AI-based perception and decision-making.

Nvidia also introduced Alpamayo at CES 2026, a set of open-source AI models and tools designed to accelerate development for passenger vehicles and autonomous trucks. Together, these partnerships aim to cut testing costs, improve compatibility, and shorten timelines, bringing automakers closer to large-scale autonomous deployments.
