Sky has expanded its sports content offerings by integrating the Premier Sports app into its Sky Stream and Sky Glass platforms. This addition grants subscribers access to four major sports channels: Premier Sports 1, Premier Sports 2, LaLigaTV, and the newly launched Premier Sports Rugby.

The Premier Sports app provides live coverage of various sports events, including over 80 Scottish football matches from the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, and Premier Sports Cup. It also features every top-flight match from Spain’s LaLiga, thanks to a partnership with the league. Rugby fans may take advantage of comprehensive coverage of events such as the United Rugby Championship, EPCR Challenge Cup, and Investec Champions Cup.

Beyond live broadcasts, the app offers a comprehensive on-demand library with full match replays, quick highlights in three- or ten-minute formats, magazine shows, previews, and post-match analyses.

Richard Sweeney, CEO of Premier Sports, stated, “We’re excited to bring the Premier Sports app to Sky Stream and Sky Glass, giving even more customers convenient access to our live sports coverage.” This collaboration demonstrates our continued dedication to expanding the accessibility and usability of our content on an expanding number of platforms.”

To access the Premier Sports content, subscribers need to install the Premier Sports app on their Sky Stream or Sky Glass devices. The service requires a separate subscription, priced at £99 annually, £11.99 per month on a 12-month contract, or £15.99 on a rolling monthly basis. Notably, a Sky Sports subscription is not necessary to access Premier Sports.

This development aligns with the broader trend of streaming services enhancing their sports content offerings. For example, when Sky Sports+ debuted in August 2024, it offered customers free access to more than 1,000 live English Football League games, every men’s Super League game, and more than 100 tennis tournaments a year.

The integration of Premier Sports into Sky’s streaming platforms signifies a significant step in offering diverse and comprehensive sports content to viewers, catering to the evolving preferences of sports fans in the digital age.
