Following an internal operational review, Ubisoft has reduced its workforce by 55 employees across its Massive Entertainment and Stockholm studios. The move reflects the company’s broader effort to streamline operations and align teams with current production priorities.
Management stated that the decision was made to better match staffing levels with active projects and long term planning. Despite the cuts, development at Massive Entertainment remains active, with work on The Division 3 continuing as planned. Ongoing updates and live service support for The Division 2 are also unaffected.
Alongside its workforce realignment, Ubisoft continues to focus on technical partnerships, including work on improving Switch 2 VRR performance at 30fps through specialized enginenlevel optimizations.
The affected studios will remain involved in advancing Ubisoft’s internal Snowdrop technology, which underpins several major franchises. Employees impacted by the layoffs are being offered transition support, including assistance in securing new roles.
These job cuts follow earlier workforce reductions, including the closure of Ubisoft Halifax, and signal that restructuring efforts are not yet complete. The company has acknowledged that further adjustments may occur as it responds to shifting market conditions and development demands.
