Xiaomi is gearing up to launch HyperOS 3, its next‑generation operating system based on Android 16, promising a sleek interface, enhanced performance, and a tighter ecosystem. The company has reportedly ended major development on HyperOS 2 and shifted full focus toward this new release, expected to begin rolling out by July 2025 in China with global availability following soon after.

HyperOS 3 is anticipated to debut alongside the flagship Xiaomi 16 series, scheduled for launch in September or October 2025, bringing a more refined UI and upgraded visual elements. While early leaks hinted at Apple’s Liquid Glass-style effects, recent screenshots show Xiaomi is opting for a minimalist, clutter-free home screen and cleaner widget layouts, foregoing direct imitation in favor of their polished look.

One notable change is that Xiaomi is reportedly ditching Google’s default Dialer app in HyperOS 3, replacing it with a custom native dialer featuring smoother animations and deeper integration with Xiaomi’s services, a move aligned with industry trends toward in‑house customization.

According to recent reports, the update is slated for a late July 2025 rollout for eligible devices, offering performance upgrades like faster app loading, better memory management, and smoother multitasking. It will also expand AI-driven personalization features, improve gaming performance via Vulkan API enhancements, and offer richer notification and multimedia handling. The full list of supported devices spans over 60 recent Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO models, including the Xiaomi 15, 14, and 13 series; Redmi Note 14/13/12; Redmi K80/K70/K60; Redmi A3 Pro to A5; POCO F5/F6/F7, X6/X7, and more; even tablets such as Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro and Redmi Pad series are included.

By broadening support across premium and budget lines alike, Xiaomi is reinforcing its ecosystem vision, ensuring users across devices benefit from the unified HyperOS experience. With the expected introduction of enhanced AI-powered scripting, predictive tools, and streamlined notifications, HyperOS 3 is shaping up as a transformative update not just a cosmetic refresh but a fundamental evolution in Xiaomi’s software strategy
