Monster Hunter Outlanders Launches on Android and iOS With Co-Op Hunts

Monster Hunter Outlanders launched on October 29, 2026, for Android and iOS, bringing Capcom’s monster-hunting series to a new mobile adventure. Developed by TiMi Studio Group, part of Tencent Games, under license from Capcom, the free-to-play game combines monster battles with open-world exploration, resource gathering, and crafting. Players explore Aesoland, use familiar weapons, and hunt with companion characters called Buddies. Solo play and four-player cooperative hunts are both supported.

The game is available as a free download through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, although it includes optional in-app purchases. For more on Android gaming, TechBonafide has also covered recent Google Play Store gaming updates, including new ways players can discover games. Monster Hunter Outlanders is designed specifically for smartphones and tablets, with controls adapted for touchscreen gameplay. According to Capcom’s official announcement, Monster Hunter Outlanders launched on October 29 outside mainland China, where a separate release is planned for 2027 or later. Availability in individual app stores may vary by region.

Monster Hunter Outlanders takes place in Aesoland, an environment with forests, mountains, and other areas to explore. Players search for monsters, gather materials, and build facilities as they move through the world. Hunting remains central to the game, but exploration, resource collection, and preparation are also important parts of the experience. These activities give players more ways to spend time between major battles.

Monster Hunter Outlanders also introduces several familiar weapons alongside new fighting abilities. Players can use Great Swords, Long Swords, Dual Blades, Hammers, Lances, Bows, and Heavy Bowguns. The launch also brings the Charge Blade, which allows players to switch between sword and axe forms during combat. Different characters, known as Adventurers, have their own weapons and special abilities, giving players several ways to approach difficult battles.

Another important feature is multiplayer hunting. Players can explore the world alone or join teams of up to four people to fight dangerous monsters together. Teamwork allows players to combine attacks and use different fighting strategies. The game also introduces helpful companions called Buddies, including the familiar Palico and new characters named Rutaco and Trillan. These companions can assist during battles, exploration, and other activities. TiMi Studio Group also developed Pokรฉmon UNITE, a separate multiplayer title recently covered in TechBonafide’s Pokรฉmon UNITE shutdown report.

The game features powerful creatures that offer fresh challenges for experienced Monster Hunter fans. One of the most noticeable additions is Ruger Aidal, a new Elder Dragon with bright, sun-like powers. Players will also encounter Radiant monsters, including special versions of Rathalos, Rathian, and Anjanath. These creatures have unusual abilities linked to Aesoland’s environment, making battles more challenging and encouraging players to learn new fighting techniques.

Monster Hunter Outlanders is marking its launch with events that give players chances to earn extra items and characters. Across different event activities, players can earn up to 400 Recruitment Tickets and obtain selected high-rarity Adventurers and Buddies, depending on each event’s requirements. The launch content also includes story missions, Free Hunt battles, Arena challenges, and an event featuring the Adventurer Midori. These rewards are not all given automatically, so players should check the event rules before expecting to receive them.

Before launch, Monster Hunter Outlanders passed 15 million pre-registrations worldwide, according to its official pre-registration campaign. The figure includes registrations linked to mainland China and covers email sign-ups as well as app-store registrations; it is not a count of active players or completed downloads. The 15-million milestone also qualified the community for additional rewards, including Standard Contracts and Primeberries. The total suggests strong early interest, but the number of people playing after launch has not yet been established.

Before downloading, players should review the Monster Hunter Outlanders official launch FAQ. The game recommends Android 12 or later or iOS 17 or later, with at least 6 GB of RAM on smartphones or tablets. Controllers are supported for selected activities at launch, including hunting, quests, and field exploration, but support does not cover every part of the game yet. Players should also check their local app-store listing and available storage before installing.

Monster Hunter Outlanders brings familiar monster-hunting action to mobile devices while adding original Adventurers, Buddies, and exploration-focused activities. The launch gives Capcom and TiMi Studio Group a chance to see how well cooperative hunts and complex combat work on phones. Its long-term reception will depend on performance, updates, game balance, and how players respond to the free-to-play purchase system.
