BOCA RATON, FL In a strategic operational move, regional “hop‑on” public charter airline JSX has announced plans to cease flights from Boca Raton Airport (BCT) by July 31, 2025, relocating its services to nearby Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) beginning August 28, 2025.
JSX cited the scheduled demolition of the Atlantic Aviation hangar at Boca Raton Airport as the primary reason for the relocation. The teardown will make continued operation at BCT unfeasible, forcing JSX to seek a new departure point.
Beginning August 28, all JSX flights that were previously scheduled to depart from Boca Raton will now operate out of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, situated roughly 15 miles to the south. The airline assures passengers that most of its services including the popular Boca Westchester County (HPN) route will continue unchanged except for the airport of origin.
Passengers booked on flights departing from Boca Raton on or after August 1 have a few alternatives:
- Fly out of Fort Lauderdale Executive (FXE) once service begins.
- You may transfer your flight to West Palm Beach (PBI) or Miami Opa Locka (OPF) at no extra charge.
- Request a full refund.
JSX stated that travelers will be accommodated on these alternative airports or refunded ensuring minimal disruption during the transition.
- Last JSX flight from Boca Raton: July 31, 2025.
- First flight from Fort Lauderdale Executive: August 28, 2025.
- Boca Raton Airport (BCT), a general-aviation facility spanning 214 acres with one runway, has been served by JSX since 2023 via its Atlantic Aviation hangar
- Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) operates two asphalt runways and handles roughly 160,000 aircraft movements annually. It also has U.S. Customs and supports general aviation activity.
JSX reassures customers that its signature “hop‑on” boarding process fast check-in, streamlined security through fixed-base operators, and check-in as little as 20 minutes ahead of departure will remain intact. The airline will maintain its configuration of Embraer ERJ‑135 and ERJ‑145 jets with 30-seat layouts.
The move aligns with JSX’s broader realignment strategy. In tandem with this shift, JSX is also relocating certain Colorado services and opening operations at Denver’s Centennial Airport on September 10, 2025. These changes reflect JSX’s focus on maintaining optimal facilities and accessibility in key markets.
- Check your booking: Customers flying between August 1–28 should verify whether they’ve been transitioned to Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, or Opa-Locka.
- Plan for FWY traffic: Fort Lauderdale Executive is about a 30‑ to 45‑minute drive from Boca Raton, depending on traffic.
- Enjoy the same perks: JSX’s premium boarding process remains spare yourself from long lines and large terminals with their streamlined system.
JSX is smoothly transitioning its South Florida operation from Boca Raton to Fort Lauderdale Executive due to hangar demolition, while preserving service quality and giving travelers flexible alternatives. The move reinforces JSX’s preference for reliable, passenger-friendly facilities across its growing network.
