ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Jamison R. Wagner, a 40-year-old resident of Albuquerque, has been charged with two counts of malicious destruction of property by fire or explosives, following alleged arson attacks on a Tesla dealership and the New Mexico Republican Party headquarters.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the first incident occurred on February 9, 2025, when Wagner allegedly used incendiary devices to damage two Tesla Model Y vehicles at a dealership in Bernalillo. Graffiti messages such as “Die Elon” and “Tesla Nazi Inc.” were found at the scene.

The second incident took place on March 30, 2025, at the New Mexico Republican Party headquarters in Albuquerque. The building sustained fire and smoke damage, and graffiti reading “ICE=KKK” was discovered nearby.

Investigators linked Wagner to both attacks through surveillance footage and evidence found during a search of his residence, including suspected incendiary devices, spray paint, and a stencil matching the graffiti.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has labeled these acts as “domestic terrorism” and emphasized a zero-tolerance policy. She stated that Wagner will receive no plea offers and could face up to 40 years in prison if convicted. These incidents are part of a broader trend of politically motivated attacks targeting Tesla, reportedly due to CEO Elon Musk’s political affiliations. The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have formed a task force to pursue these cases.
