Apple has rolled out iOS 26.3 update, the third major revision to its iOS 26 cycle, delivering both cross-platform improvements and critical security fixes. Eligible iPhone users can install the release over the air by navigating to Settings → General → Software Update.
Apple previously outlined broader platform refinements when it issued developer builds, including details in its report on iOS 26.3 and macOS Tahoe 26.3 release candidates. That earlier preview highlighted cross-device updates that set the stage for the public rollout now reaching eligible iPhone users.
Apple adds a built-in data transfer tool in the iOS 26.3 update to simplify switching from iPhone to Android. Users simply place the two devices next to each other and the tool automatically starts the transfer process, enabling them to move apps, photos, messages, passwords, phone numbers and other data without relying on third-party software.
However, certain items are excluded from the transfer:
- Health data
- Bluetooth-paired devices
- Protected or encrypted content
Security remains central to this release. Apple addressed dozens of vulnerabilities across WebKit, the kernel and system components such as Bluetooth, CoreAudio, CoreMedia and CoreServices. The update fixes at least one actively exploited flaw, including a high-severity memory corruption issue tracked as CVE-2026-20700.
The iOS 26.3 update reflects a dual strategy. Apple is strengthening interoperability with Android while tightening security protections. By combining ecosystem flexibility with aggressive vulnerability patching, the company reinforces update urgency and signals continued focus on platform competition and device security.
