Rockstar Games has given fans their biggest official look yet at Grand Theft Auto VI, releasing an extended presentation featuring around 26 minutes of new gameplay footage.
The GTA 6 Extended Look gives players a much clearer idea of what they can expect when they finally enter Vice City and the wider state of Leonida. The footage was captured entirely from in-game action on PlayStation 5, offering a detailed look at the graphics, characters, environments and gameplay systems.
Much of the presentation focuses on the game’s two main characters, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Players can see the pair working together during criminal activities while also experiencing their lives outside major missions. Their relationship appears to be an important part of the story, with both characters playing active roles as events unfold.
Character switching also appears to play a major role. The footage shows transitions between Jason and Lucia during different situations, building on the character-switching system introduced in GTA 5 while making it feel more connected to missions and the story.
Vice City is another major highlight. Streets are filled with pedestrians, traffic, shops, nightlife and other activity, creating a city that looks much busier and more detailed than previous Grand Theft Auto worlds. Rockstar also shows locations outside the main city, giving players a glimpse of the wider Leonida map.
Classic GTA action remains at the center of the experience. The extended look includes police pursuits, gunfights, vehicle chases and criminal jobs. Driving appears more detailed, while interactions with police and other characters seem designed to make situations feel less predictable.
The video also shows that GTA 6 will offer plenty to do away from the main storyline. Players are shown around beaches, clubs and other locations, while activities such as basketball, scuba diving, kayaking and racing appear throughout the presentation. These details suggest Rockstar wants Leonida to feel like a world players can explore rather than simply a location connecting one mission to another.
Customization also appears to be more important this time. Jason and Lucia can be seen wearing different clothes and hairstyles, while the game seems to place greater attention on how the characters look and behave throughout their daily lives.
Visually, GTA 6 continues to stand out. Reflections, lighting, crowds, vehicles, character animations and environmental details all help create a more realistic version of Vice City. The fact that the presentation was captured using PlayStation 5 gameplay also gives players a better idea of what the final console experience could look like.
The Extended Look is an important moment for GTA 6 because it moves beyond short cinematic trailers and gives fans a much longer view of the actual game. While Rockstar is still keeping many story details and gameplay surprises secret, the presentation shows the scale and ambition behind the next Grand Theft Auto.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With the release now getting closer, this extended gameplay reveal gives players the clearest picture yet of what Rockstar has been building for its long-awaited return to Vice City.
