Samsung has introduced its latest foldable smartphone generation, bringing three new devices to the premium Galaxy Z family. The lineup includes the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 brings a noticeably wider, passport-like design. Samsung says the new shape makes the phone more comfortable for messaging, browsing, watching videos and using apps while it is folded. Opening the device provides a larger 7.6-inch screen for gaming, reading and entertainment.
At around 201 grams, the Fold 8 is also Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold model so far. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor designed for Galaxy devices and includes a 4,800mAh battery. Its camera setup includes two 50-megapixel cameras for detailed standard and wide-angle photos.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is designed for people who need a larger screen and more powerful features. It has an 8-inch main display, a 200-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. It also carries a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
Samsung has made the Ultra model thinner without removing its premium features. The phone measures around 4.1mm when unfolded and weighs 215 grams. Its large screen is built for running multiple apps, editing content, attending meetings and completing work while traveling.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 offers a more compact folding design. It weighs around 180 grams and provides faster access to apps, alerts and useful information through its outer FlexWindow. Users can also take hands-free photos and videos by placing the phone at different folding angles.
Artificial intelligence plays an important role across the new range. Galaxy AI and Google Gemini can help users search for information, organize tasks, work between apps and receive useful suggestions. Samsung has adjusted these AI tools for the different screen shapes offered by the Fold and Flip models.
The new phones also improve file sharing between Galaxy and Apple devices. Supported users can send files between compatible Android and iOS products more easily through the updated Quick Share experience.
In the United States, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at $1,899, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra starts at $2,099. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 starts at $1,199. Prices, colors, storage options and release offers may differ by country.
With this launch, Samsung is giving foldable-phone buyers more choice. The standard Fold 8 focuses on portability and entertainment, the Ultra targets productivity and content creation and the Flip 8 offers a smaller, stylish option for everyday use.
